Professional glass-door display freezers for ice cream, frozen goods and showcase

The professional glass-door display freezer is the reference for displaying and preserving ice cream, sorbets, frozen meals, frozen meat and any negative-temperature product for direct customer sale. Unlike a closed freezer cabinet, the display freezer enables visual presentation that triggers impulse buying. At Frigo Horeca: DIVERSO range in vertical (374-1084 L) and countertop (50-90 L) formats. All in stock, 1-2 day delivery in Belgium.

From countertop to double door: picking the right size

Glass-door freezers range from mini to maxi. On the counter, the 50 L model puts impulse ice cream right at the till. In upright format, the 646 L display with light box builds a true frozen aisle, while the 1084 L double door and the energy-efficient 1400 L version keep pace with a night shop or convenience store. The Capacity filter on this page takes you to the right family in one click.

Heated glazing: selling frozen food without opening the door

The whole point of a glass-door freezer is its door: showing -18 °C without condensation or frost. The heated double or triple glazing on our models stays clear even in humid rooms — the customer sees, chooses, opens once. Combined with vertical LED lighting and the advertising light box, it turns frozen food — hidden by nature — into an impulse purchase.

Temperature, defrost and consumption

Our glass freezers run between -18 and -24 °C, the legal range for frozen storage. Fan-assisted cooling keeps temperature even top to bottom — essential on tall formats — and automatic defrost removes the manual chore. On energy, a glass freezer is the hungriest unit in the shop: keep it away from heat sources, dust the condenser every two months, check the heated door gaskets, and at night use models with blinds or switchable lighting. Recent R290 versions like the Polar 1400 L cut the bill by 20–30% versus older generations.

Why a glass-door freezer pays for itself

Frozen products suffer a handicap: customers cannot see them. A glass-door freezer removes that barrier — studies across retail consistently show double-digit sales lifts when frozen ranges move from solid to glass doors. For an horeca or retail business in Belgium, that means the appliance often recovers its price within the first year through extra impulse sales alone. Add the advertising light box on top models and the unit doubles as in-store signage, promoting brands or your own offers at zero media cost.

Where to place it in the shop

Three placements work best: at the till for small countertop units (last-second ice cream), on the customer’s natural path for uprights (the frozen aisle), and near the entrance in summer when ice cream becomes a destination purchase. Avoid direct sunlight on the glass — it creates glare, heats the door and pushes consumption up. Leave the air intake and exhaust grilles clear, and keep at least 10 cm of clearance around the cabinet; a glass freezer that cannot breathe loses cooling power exactly when the shop is busiest.

Daily care in two minutes

Wipe the glass inside and out with a non-abrasive cleaner so the display stays appetising, check the door closes and seals by itself, and glance at the temperature display — it should read -18 °C or colder at all times. Weekly, remove crumbs and packaging debris from the bottom; monthly, check the door gasket with the paper test and listen for unusual compressor noise. These small habits keep the cold chain documented and your frozen stock safe through the busiest weekends.

FAQ

Why is my glass fogging up? Cold glass + humid air = condensation. Check that the heated glazing works and the door gasket is intact; persistent fog almost always means a tired gasket.

Glass upright or glass chest? The upright displays better and uses less floor; the chest stores more per euro. Selling to the eye → upright; bulk storage → chest.
